I am doing a book report on a book called "The Last of the Really Great Whangdoodles by Julie Andrews. I picked this book because I needed to write a report on a science fiction book. This is my favorite book and the plot is about some young kids and their journey into a magical land

The story starts when young Lindy who is seven, Tom who is ten and Ben who are thirteen leave the zoo on a crisp October day. As they were leaving, they met a man named Professor Samuel Savant. He has been studying a fascinating creature called the Whangdoodle. He invited the kids over to his house so he could teach them how to enter Whangdoodleland. He said that you really have to open your mind.

Soon the kids entered the magical land of the Whangdoodle. They were greeted by the Whiffle Bird soon after. The Whiffle Bird was a quiet bird and only speaks up when there is danger. As soon as the kids and the Professor got they immediately wanted to explore. They went to the fruit of the month tree first. Each month the tree grows a different fruit. Then they realized that there was only one Whangdoodle left in the whole world and the professor thought it would be a huge honor to meet the Whangdoodle. So they started on their way to Whangdoodle Palace to meet the Whangdoodle.

On the way to the palace they encountered many problems such as the little creature called the Splintercat. The Splintercat was sent to stop the group from getting to the Whangdoodles. Splintercat was sent by the Prock who is like the bodyguard to the Whangdoodle.

When the group got close to the castle, they were ecstatic! But they started to go in the palace and the professor fell and hurt his leg. The kids were not going to go in without him so they found the Whangdoodle and with the Whangdoodle’s power he fixed the Professor’s leg. The Whangdoodle has some amazing characteristics such as a sweet tooth that is shaped like a flower or that his feet every month grow slippers that he sheds after the month with those slippers is up he grows a new pair. The professor and the Whangdoodle immediately bonded and the professor learned that the Whangdoodle was lonely. The Whangdoodle and the professor agreed that if the professor made the Whangdoodle a wife using his genealogy expertise in exchange for a pair of the slippers. Soon the Whangdoodle was married and was so much happier and invited the kids and the professor to his palace whenever they desire.

I recommend this book to anyone with a wild imagination and anyone who is ready for an adventure!
